Research
The University of Colorado Physical Therapy Program faculty contribute to the scientific foundation of physical therapy practice by conducting studies that improve our understanding of human movement, physical function, and disability across the lifespan. Faculty research is supported by several core laboratories located on the Anschutz Medical Campus, which features over 5 million square feet of research, educational and clinical space on 227 acres.
In addition to core research facilities, Program faculty collaborate with other scientists both regionally and nationally to conduct interdisciplinary and translational research. Funding for faculty research comes from a variety of sources including the National Institutes of Health, national foundations, including the Foundation for Physical Therapy, and societies including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Our faculty are routinely invited to present their research findings in scientific publications and at local, national, and international conferences.

The newly developed CU Rehabilitation Science Consortium is a shared workspace and meeting place for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, residents, and research assistants who conduct research with faculty in the Department of Physical Medicine
and Rehabilitation.
