Welcome to the Division of General Internal Medicine Research & Innovation

Gina KruseOur research faculty use innovative approaches to tackle the most pressing health threats—locally, nationally, and globally. This work is made possible through close collaboration with our exceptional research staff, who support each stage of the research process.

Together, our work spans a wide range of topics, including health informatics, bioethics, addiction medicine, substance use, public health policy, homelessness and housing insecurity, palliative care, aging, serious illness, women’s health, dissemination and implementation, chronic pain, quality improvement, insurance benefit design, chronic diseases such as obesity, metabolic and cardiovascular disease, support for formerly incarcerated individuals and other vulnerable populations, and prevention efforts such as tobacco cessation and cancer prevention.

Each of our faculty and staff brings exceptional depth and breadth in research methods, from computational informatics and qualitative, community-engaged approaches to complex intervention trials, implementation science, and translational research. Whether in local neighborhoods or global settings, we are committed to advancing knowledge, informing policy, and improving health for all.

We invite you to explore our work and join us in advancing research that improves prevention, treatment, and health outcomes.
