AY 2022-2023 Proposed Schedule


The 4 week blocks of inpatient and outpatient rotations for our tracks will include approximately the following rotations (please note that every schedule will vary slightly and will differ from this schedule by a couple of weeks)

This is a proposed schedule and may change.

 

 

Primary Care Program Structure

Primary Care Intern Year:

Be a part of a group of 9 PC Interns per year in an overall Internal Medicine intern class of 61 (PC, Categorical, Hospitalist, PSTP, Prelim).

  • PC intern schedules are aligned to all take in-patient rotations together at the same time, ambulatory rotations at the same time.
  • Prior to starting, PC Interns submit preference for their continuity clinic home location within Denver Health's safety network of Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • Additional 4 PC Intern half day educational sessions in July and 4 PC Intern half day educational sessions in March only for PC Track
  • Wednesday Educational Sessions with larger Internal Medicine class on ambulatory (yellow blocks)
  • Monday morning Clinic Didactics during clinic blocks with Denver Health clinic residents (PC/Cat/Hospitalists)

Primary Care Intern Schedule Requirements: Geriatrics, Urgent Care

Sample Schedule

Primary Care R2 year

  • Select a Longitudinal Clinic in which to develop primary care specialty skills (HIV, Addiction, Geriatrics, Rheumatology, Student Run Free Clinic, many more). This will be a half day per week during clinic blocks and continue through graduation.
  • Select a Pathway to further develop skills in a professional area of interest that complements Primary Care: Health Equity, Research, Medical Education, Global Health, Medical Leaders Program. Pathways will meet during certain Wednesday Educational Sessions and continue through graduation
  • Monday morning Clinic Didactics during Clinic blocks with opportunities to teach outpatient topics to resident colleagues
  • Wednesday Educational Sessions weekly during Ambulatory (yellow) blocks. Of these, 6 per year will be scheduled as Primary Care class only.

Primary Care R2 Schedule Requirements: Womens Health/Neurology

From R2 year, our PC R3 residents continue:

  • Longitudinal Clinic selected prior
  • Pathway selected prior
  • Monday morning Clinic Didactics during Clinic blocks with opportunities to teach outpatient topics to resident colleagues
  • Wednesday Educational Sessions weekly during Ambulatory (yellow) blocks. Of these, 6 per year will be scheduled as Primary Care class only.
