Grant Assistance and Letters of Support

The RITTC is happy to support grant applications involving RNA sequencing, ribosome profiling, long-read sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, single-cell genomics, and bioinformatics.

Whether you are planning a new proposal or revising an existing application, we encourage investigators to contact us early in the grant development process. We can assist with:

  • Selecting appropriate technologies and experimental design
  • Developing project budgets and sequencing costs
  • Estimating bioinformatic effort
  • Defining core personnel effort when appropriate
  • Providing Letters of Support
  • Contributing methods descriptions and technical expertise

Letter of Support Requests

Please submit a Letter of Support Request Form at least two weeks before your sponsor deadline to allow sufficient time for review and preparation.

When should Core personnel effort be included?

Core personnel effort may be appropriate if one or more of the following apply:

  • The proposal includes a specific aim(s) that focuses on one of our sequencing techniques.
  • Method development required.
  • Substantial bioinformatics or custom analysis be required beyond standard pipelines.
  • Core personnel effort is essential to the successful completion or competitiveness of the proposed research.
  • The project will not progress, or progress at a substantially slower pace, without the guidance of facility personnel.

If you're unsure whether Core effort is appropriate, contact us early in the proposal process. We're happy to discuss the scope of work and help determine the most appropriate level of involvement.

Please email us at rittc-core@cuanschutz.edu with any questions or to schedule a meeting to discuss further.
