Enhancing Academic Impact through Digital Media
Several members of our section promote the academic mission of our section through digital communications. Our section engages in social and other online media to enhance the reach of its scholarly output. This page does not represent any one-on-one engagement in digital communication between providers and patients.
Social Media and Website
Dr. Marion Ruth Sills runs the section's website (you're lookin' at it!) as well as its Newsroom, Twitter and Facebook accounts. The goals of the website and social media accounts include:
- Enhancing the academic impact of Section faculty's scholarly work by showcasing it on digital media
- Promoting outreach for section educational opportunities including educational conferences and workshops
- Raising awareness about the fellowship and faculty job opportunities
- Celebrating achievements: awards, new faculty/fellows, and other news.
Blogs
Dr. Julia Michie Bruckner blogs about her experience as a pediatrician here and has also had her writing published in a variety of mainstream media, literary and academic publications. Trained as a journalist as well as a physician, she leads sessions in narrative medicine for the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
