PEM GUIDE Leadership
Dr. Marcela (Marcy) Mendenhall is a pediatric emergency medicine physician who also identifies as Latina, speaks fluent Spanish and is a first generation Mexican American. Her preferred pronouns are she/her/hers. She advocated for the preferred language flag on all the CHCO printed prescriptions as a new faculty and her fellowship project examined language concordance between preferred language and discharge instructions. She leads the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine’s Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, known as PEM GUIDE (Pediatric Emergency Medicine Group on Unity, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity).
