Prostate Cancer
University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
To provide experience in an academic research setting.
Our laboratory is part of a multi-disciplinary prostate research program. Prostate cancer continues to be the most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in males. The clinical management of men with prostate cancer presents some unique challenges. Our laboratory focusses on the development and validation of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers that can aid the clinician in the management of patients presenting in the clinic.
The student will have the opportunity to be involved in bench work, study design, data collection, and data analysis. In addition the student will be expected to attend and participate in educational conferences and laboratory meetings to enhance their education and knowledge on prostate cancer and the workings of a research laboratory.
