Equipment Maintenance - Maintains and performs basic repairs of department-owned laboratory research equipment. Contacts outside vendors and oversees major repair of department-owned laboratory research equipment. Assists lab managers with lab-owned equipment service agreements and repair issues for individual labs. Assists lab managers with organizing maintenance on equipment as needed within the department.
Equipment Vendor Contracts- Arranges service contracts with outside vendors for critical department-owned equipment. Arranges services through outside vendors for the department for common department needs (i.e. Airgas, Larson Lab Supply).
Equipment Training - Conducts or arranges training on the proper use of department equipment.
Equipment Purchasing - Researches, coordinates with vendors, and advises department on the purchase of new laboratory equipment.
Faculty Onboarding - Assists newly hired faculty with laboratory setup and availability of existing department resources.
Compliance - Works with University Environmental Health and Safety to ensure department level compliance on laboratory safety issues. Coordinates with the University Police Department to ensure all sensitive equipment is properly connected and enrolled in the Equipment Monitoring Notifications system.
Equipment Disposals - Responsible for ensuring decontamination and proper disposal of laboratory through approved university channels.
Facilities Liaison - Department liaison for facilities maintenance, repairs, moves, and upgrades in lab spaces.
