Samantha King, MD is an Assistant Professor practicing CU Anschutz Pulmonary and Critical Care at Denver Health and the University of Colorado. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her Residency, Chief Residency, and Fellowship training here at the University of Colorado. Her areas of clinical expertise are sarcoidosis and interstitial lung diseases (ILD). As a Clinician Educator, she is studying ILD education for pulmonary fellows. She recently completed a mixed methods study to create a consensus-driven content outline for ILD education in pulmonary fellowship and is excited to have the support of PACE as she develops and implements an ILD curriculum.
Project Description: While in fellowship, Dr. King completed a mixed methods study to create a consensus-driven content outline for ILD education in pulmonary fellowship. Last academic year, with the support of PACE, she used this content outline and situated learning theory to transform the ILD curriculum at the University of Colorado. This work was programmed as a workshop at a national meeting. Now, thanks to the ongoing support of PACE, she is disseminating this curriculum across multiple fellowship programs, and comparing outcomes between in person and asynchronous or self-directed content delivery.
