Danielle received her MA in Sociology in 2019 from the University of Colorado Denver and her BA in Sociology from the University of New Mexico in 2014. Her master’s thesis research investigated how race, gender, and work-family burden influence diabetic management practices. Additionally, she completed a master’s project in which she conducted a program evaluation for pilot implementation of VeggieRX nutritional courses for diabetic seniors at the Denver Parish Food Bank. Danielle also completed an AAS in Exercise Science with a certificate in nutrition from SFCC in 2017, and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her research interests include racial and gender-based health disparities, metabolic illness management practices, and social relationships with food. She joined the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Core in 2021. In her free time, Danielle enjoys cooking, exercising, reading, and dancing flamenco.
