Mary Bondy

Mary Bondy, DHEd, MHS, PA-C

Dr. Bondy has been a physician assistant for three decades, practicing clinically in multiple specialties and serving as an educator for 27 years. She is the founding program director for the Doctor of Medical Science Program and associate professor at University of Maryland Baltimore. Returning to UMB after serving as CEO for the Physician Assistant 

Education Association from 2020-2022, she is enthusiastic about creating leaders and champions to improve quality of care, population health, and clinician experience. While at PAEA she deftly led the transition to virtual conference and workshops during COVID 19, promoted the adoption of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices, as well as use of telehealth and adoption of standards and introduced training to students and faculty.

Dr. Bondy has served in multiple volunteer and leadership roles at the state and national level. She has been a tireless advocate for patients and PAs. Some of her accomplishments include in 2018 she founded the Physician Assistant Leadership and Learning Academy, in 2014 she led the collaboration between UMB and Anne Arundel Community College and established and led the Academic Innovation and Distance Education office at UMB. She has contributed to the development of multiple new degrees at UMB including the Master of Health Science and the PhD for Health Professions Education.
