Every project is different.
The level of statistical support required varies from project to project. Factors such as study design, data complexity and readiness, statistical methods, desired deliverables, and the level of collaboration all contribute to the scope of work.
For project-based collaborations, we will meet with you to understand your research needs and develop a Scope of Work (SOW) before analysis begins.
The SOW defines the planned work, deliverables, responsibilities, anticipated timeline, and project cost.

Project-Based Statistical Analysis
Projects are scoped according to their anticipated statistical complexity and level of collaboration. The examples below are intended to provide a general sense of project size; your biostatistician will determine the appropriate scope after discussing the project with you.
| Project Scope | Examples | Cancer Center Member | Non-Member |
| Small/Pilot | Focused analyses, pilot projects, abstracts, or limited-scope consultations | $3,150 | $3,825 |
| Typical Manuscript Project | Statistical analysis and collaboration supporting a standard manuscript or publication project | $6,930 | $8,415 |
| Complex Project | Extensive or methodologically complex analyses requiring greater statistical involvement | $12,600 | $15,300 |
These examples represent common project scopes and are provided for planning purposes. Final project classification and cost are determined after consultation based on the specific work required.
Project-based support is scoped around the work and deliverables rather than sold as a fixed block of consulting hours.
We'll discuss the appropriate support model and anticipated cost with you before project work begins.
Grant Development
There is no charge for biostatistical support during grant development. When a biostatistician contributes to development of an application, appropriate statistical support for the funded project must be included in the proposed budget.
The appropriate level of effort varies according to the study and will be developed with your biostatistician during proposal preparation.

Clinical Trials & IITs
Funding and fee structures vary according to trial type, phase, funding source, and required statistical activities.

Timing & Deadlines
Statistical work takes time, and timelines vary based on project complexity and team availability.
Please contact us as early as possible, particularly for grants, abstracts, manuscripts, and other projects with fixed deadlines.
For grants, we recommend contacting us at least 60 days before the internal submission deadline whenever possible.
If you have a deadline, include it in your project request so we can discuss feasibility and planning during the initial consultation.
