Data Driven, Community Focused

CU Health Surveys

Thank you for your interest in CU Health Surveys and the Colorado Health Exposures Cohort (CHEC on Health).

CU Health Surveys is a dedicated survey research unit on the CU Anschutz Campus in Aurora, CO. We are a team of researchers who track trends in health. We use this information to help our partners make evidence-informed decisions about policy, planning, and resources to improve health outcomes.

CU Health Surveys conducts surveys on a variety of health-related topics including chronic disease prevention, tobacco and nicotine use, injury and violence prevention, maternal and child health, health access and education, and policy initiatives. We also manage the Colorado Health Exposures Cohort (CHEC on Health), a voluntary panel of over 11,000 Colorado residents (and counting!) who participate in research surveys. Panel members are invited to respond to health surveys at least once a year by email, phone, text, or paper mail.

CU Health Surveys and CHEC on Health are overseen by the Community Epidemiology and Program Evaluation Group (CEPEG), part of the CU Anschutz Cancer Center. CEPEG provides scientific leadership and research oversight for all survey efforts and has been a trusted partner in population health for over two decades. Through our research, evaluation, and survey efforts, we help organizations identify what works for them, measure impact, and make informed decisions. We also work with community stakeholders to plan, evaluate, and improve programs that advance the health of people across Colorado.

CHEC on Health Panel Participants

CHEC on Health panel participants provide Colorado leaders with vital data on chronic diseases, tobacco use, and new health trends through their survey responses. This information directly shapes health policies to improve the lives of everyone in the state.
