Dr. Shah joined BDC in December 2013. His research is focused on improving glycemic control with use of newer therapeutics and technologies and understanding mechanisms for bone fragility among patients with type 1 diabetes. He is well published with more than 70 publications including original manuscripts, reviews and chapters in textbooks. He serves as reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals and grants and served as one of the Steering Committee Members for T1D Exchange Clinic Registry in 2016-2017. He is the PI of an NIH funded study on Bone Health in Adults with Type 1 Diabetes. Dr. Shah is also the Editor-and-Chief of the Via Medica Diabetology Journal as well as a Senior Editor for the Endocrine Connection Journal.
