2023 Pediatric Biostatistics Course Registration

Dear Fellows and Residents,

As part of the fellowship education series, the Committee on Fellowship Education is pleased to once again offer the pediatric focused course, Biostatistics for Clinicians.  This six week long course will be facilitated by Kristine Knuti-Rodrigues, MD, MPH, Associate Professor Pediatrics.  

Course Objectives:

• Develop your ability to be a critical consumer of the literature
• Enhance your ability to discuss statistical issues about your research
• Develop familiarity with many commonly used statistical methods
• Determine when you should seek assistance from a statistician

Who can take this course?

This course is primarily intended for 2nd and 3rd year Department of Pediatrics fellows as part of the comprehensive fellowship educational program.  In some individual cases, enrollment in this course may be unnecessary because of participation in other programs that include biostatistics training; however, those decisions should be made with the approval of the fellow’s training program director.  We can accommodate additional participants, including junior faculty members, residents and trainees from outside of the Department of Pediatrics, when space is available.  Registration for this course ends Friday, September 29th.

When will this course occur?

This course will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on five Monday evenings in the School Medicine ED2 South Building (Room 2305), which is located on the 2nd floor of the ED2 South Building

What are the course requirements & how much does it cost?

There are attendance requirements for this course.  In order to receive a certificate of completion, a fellow must attend at least four of the five sessions and attend at least two sessions in-person. Also, you must complete the pre and post course assessments. 

Below is the link for registration.  If you are interested in this course, please let your program coordinator know and they will assist you with registration and payment.  The cost for this course will be $200.00 for fellows and $100.00 for Pediatric residents.  Registration includes course materials and dinner.  Payment for this class is expected the week prior to the first session on Monday, October 2nd.  Checks should be made payable to the University of Colorado.
