About the Demonstration Project 

The overall aim of the JOBWISE project is to improve movement from child to adult systems of care in healthcare, employment, and other support for youth and young adults between the ages of 14-26 with autism and an intellectual and/or developmental disability living in Denver and Adams counties. JOBWISE will explore the impact of employment on overall health and thriving/quality of life.

JOBWISE will focus on three primary objectives: 

  1. Increase thriving during the move from child to adult serving systems. 
  2. Adopt a comprehensive framework for moving from child to adult serving systems that can be applied to both clinical and community settings. 
  3. Improve family and caregiver self-efficacy during the move from child to adult serving systems.   

Eligible participants will meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 14 and 26 and,
  • Has a medical diagnosis of autism AND an intellectual disability or a qualifying adaptive score and,
  • Lives in Denver or Adams counties and,
  • Currently has or is Eligible for any of the following Waivers: Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver; Supported Living Services (SLS) Waiver; Children's Extensive Support (CES) Waiver; or Children's Habilitation Residential Program (CHRP) Waiver

JOBWISE is recruiting Advisory Council members. 
This project includes creating an Advisory Council comprised of community partners who will provide feedback on the

JOBWISE framework and the implementation. Our charge is to reach every person and family eligible for this intervention in Denver and Adams counties. We are looking for representatives of these counties to serve on the Advisory Committee. 

Eligible advisory council members include: 

  • Autistic Youth Self-Advocates
  • Family Members of Autistic Youth
  • Representatives from State and Local Government Agencies
  • Service Providers 
  • Secondary and Post-Secondary Education 
  • Healthcare Providers
  • Advocacy Organizations

Non-employee advisory council members may be compensated for their time.
