The Division of Infectious Diseases is the scientific home for a diverse group of scientific researchers. Our investigators maintain highly productive, well-funded programs in basic science, as well as translational, clinical, outcomes and global health research. There is a very strong tradition in virology, including but not limited to HIV-1. There are numerous active clinical trials. Division scientists are also investigating a wide variety of other pathogens, diseases, and vaccines.
We place a priority on enabling trainees to launch independent academic research careers and offer robust research training that includes mentoring, structured training and preparation for successful grant applications to federal and private funding agencies.
