Infectious Diseases Fellowship

Program Overview

Our mission is to train the next generation of infectious disease specialists, providing fellows with the opportunity to develop the needed clinical skills to recognize, diagnose, and treat infectious diseases, while also supporting the pursuit of scholarship and other professional activities that prepare graduates for a variety of career opportunities. Our graduates have developed successful careers in academic infectious diseases, public health, and private practice infectious disease.

Our training program offers outstanding opportunities for clinical training at a diversity of care sites including the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH), Denver Health (DH), the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (VA), and National Jewish Health (NJ). As a fellow, you will be exposed to and learn to manage the breadth of infections managed by infectious diseases consultants. Our clinical sites offer opportunities to work with urban underserved communities and recent immigrant communities, persons with substance use disorders, persons from correctional populations, together with the complexity of cases seen in the UCH quaternary referral center.

The Infectious Diseases research program at the University of Colorado brings together faculty from across the division and the clinical sites as well as broad array of research partners within the campus and the region. As a fellow, you will learn how to identify research questions and develop the studies needed to answer them. Our division is growing, with highly productive faculty who have diverse interests and who understand and support the unique financial and training needs of clinician-scientists pursuing research careers.

On behalf of the faculty and fellows of the Division of Infectious Diseases, we invite you to review the online materials and to submit an application. Direct contact is always welcome for any questions or additional information.
