"I think that is the beauty of the biobank, knowing that I have this genetic risk.. I am fast-tracking myself to treatment."

Kristina, biobank participant

"In my case, I did it because it might help somebody - and it came back and helped me."

David, biobank participant

Study Participant Information

The CCPM Biobank Consent

Sample Collection

If you choose to sign the biobank consent form, a biobank sample will be automatically collected at a future UCHealth blood draw. This is free to you. At this time, we are unable to schedule blood draws just for the biobank. However, there is no need to provide a sample right away.

Genetic Results

The biobank is now returning genetic results to some participants.

Furthering Research

After your sample is collected, it will be transferred to our lab, where we will look at your genetic information. This information will be linked with data from your health record at UCHealth and made available for research. We will use your samples and health information for all types of research here at CU Anschutz.

As a participant of the CCPM biobank research study, you may also be contacted to take part in other research studies. If you qualify for any new studies, you will get a message in your UCHealth My Health Connection (MHC) patient portal. Your choice to take part in other studies will not affect your participation in the CCPM biobank study.

Withdraw

You can withdraw from the biobank research study at any time and for any reason. If you decide to withdraw, please submit a request in writing by clicking here. You may also call the biobank at 303-724-9944 or email at [email protected]
