Pediatric Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
We are excited to announce the opportunity for a two-year (2024-2026), NIH-funded T32 research and clinical postdoctoral fellow position in the field of pediatric diabetes in sunny Denver, Colorado! The fellow will receive systematic training in the specialized knowledge and skills related to the management of pediatric type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The four core training experiences include research, clinical care, research program development, consultation with multidisciplinary providers including medical trainees. The primary mentors for this position are licensed clinical psychologists with active research programs in pediatric type 1 and type 2 diabetes (Holly O'Donnell, PhD & Lauren Shomaker, PhD). Fellows will have the opportunity to receive additional mentorship via team collaborations with researchers in the fields of pediatric endocrinology, epidemiology, nutrition, and physical activity. Educational opportunities include grand rounds, didactics, and seminars. This is a research-focused fellowship (75% protected time for research) with enough clinical opportunities to meet requirements for licensure in the state of Colorado.

Clinical Opportunities
Clinical opportunities for fellow span across pediatric type 1 and type 2 diabetes and include consultation/liaison, group intervention, and individual therapy to address psychological factors affecting medical management.
