Dr. Geno Rasmussen serves as program manager and investigator on the Autoimmunity Screening for Kids (ASK) study team (www.ASKhealth.org). To date, ASK has screened over 33,000 children, ages 1-17 for stage 1 and 2 type 1 diabetes (T1D) and celiac disease (CD). Last year, ASK was approved to expand its screening program nationwide, including children and adults. As part of her work on the ASK investigator team, Dr. Geno also supports the Ask the Experts program (www.AsktheExperts.org), which is a national monitoring program aimed at supporting individuals who are at risk for T1D or CD and their providers. She is a co-investigator on several recently funded studies, including the PRenatal and Obstetric Maternal Exposures and ISlet Autoantibodies in Early Life (PROMISE) study and the IMProving Adoption and Continuity of Technology Use in Type 1 Diabetes (IMPACT) study. Dr. Geno Rasmussen is also committed to improving psychosocial health outcomes for individuals who are at risk for or who have type 1 diabetes or celiac disease and was awarded a CCTSI CO-Mentor award in this area of research.
