The Expansion Community Fellowship Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health

The Harris Program is currently seeking applicants for the 2021-2022 Harris Expansion Community Fellowship Program! Please see below for additional information.

Program Details: 

  • Training year begins on October 6th, 2022.
  • Didactics held weekly on Thursdays via Zoom covering a range of infant mental health topics
  • Periodic in-person training with funds for travel
  • Intensive and foundational coursework aligns with COAIMH The Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health (IMH-E ®) criteria
  • Fees for pursuing The Endorsement for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health (IMH-E ®) available upon fellowship completion
  • Course series on Leadership and Professional Development 
  • Reflective supervision with licensed mental health provider- individual and group formats 
  • Mentorship from Harris faculty 

Applicant Information: 

  • Masters or doctoral level psychology, social work, counseling, and marriage and family mental health providers who are licensed or license eligible with agency supervision 
  • Actively seeking applicants who reflect the diversity of their community 
  • Prefer a minimum of 3 years working as a mental health clinician with birth to 5 population 
  • Fellows will maintain a caseload or significant percentage of work with children birth to 5 and their families to support supervision and discussions in didactics
  • Tuition scholarships will be prioritized for applicants serving at-risk pregnant women, infants, young children and families 
  • Fellows must secure release time (~10-12 hours per week) from their agency and obtain a signed MOU found on the application page
  • Agencies must be able to collaborate with Harris administrators and faculty for consultation and technical assistance to ensure the fellow’s training translates into meaningful impact for young children and their families
  • Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
