PT Faculty Member Awarded National Recognition in Orthopaedics
CU Physical Therapy Jan 30, 2019The award from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) recognizes and supports excellence in instructing OPT principles and techniques through the acknowledgment of an individual with exemplary teaching skills.
Among the criteria are good standing with the Orthopaedic Section of the APTA, devoting the majority of their professional career to student education, serving as a mentor and role model with evidence of strong student rapport, innovative teaching techniques that are intellectually challenging and promote retention of necessary knowledge and skills, and demonstrated excellence in instructional methods, presentation techniques, planning and organizational skills, and the ability to motivate students, among others.
Mintken was presented the award at the APTA Annual Meeting (CSM) by the Chair of the Awards Committee. An alum of the CU Physical Therapy Program, Mintken has been on faculty since 1997.
