Andrew Hoisington

Associate Director of the Military and Veteran Consortium for Research and Education, VA Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC) Assistant Professor

Dr. Hoisington is an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Dr. Hoisington also holds appointments as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology and with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Rocky Mountain MIRECC.  More specifically for the Rocky Mountain MIRECC, he is the Associate Director of the Military and Veteran Consortium for Research and Education and manages all biological sampling efforts. He served active duty military in the United States Air Force for 21 years in the position of Civil and Environmental Engineering Officer where he taught for six years at the United States Air Force Academy and three years at the Air Force Institute of Technology.  His research interests include indoor air quality and microbial relationships, connections between the microbiome and mental health, and associations between the built environment and mental health outcomes. Dr. Hoisington is a licensed Professional Engineering in the state of Michigan since 2009.
