Rehabilitation Science PhD students receive foundation scholarships for their professional development and research
Aug 24, 2021Two students, Michelle Rauzi, PT, DPT, ATC and Lauren Hinrichs, PT, DPT, OCS, both Rehabilitation Science PhD students under the mentorship of Dr. Jennifer Stevens-Lapsley received Promotion of Doctoral Studies I (PODS) scholarships from the Foundation of Physical Therapy Research. This foundation funds research and develops researchers to optimize movement and health and has grown to provide more than $1,000,000 in funding each year to promising research and researchers. PODS I Scholarships are part of the Foundation’s Doctoral Opportunities for Clinicians and Scholars Program and are meant to fund post-professional doctoral students prior to their candidacy. This is a competitive scholarship opportunity with 11 researchers receiving this funding. We look forward to seeing the results and benefits from both projects, Dr. Rauzi’s “Telehealth for Medically Complex Older Veterans” and Dr. Hinrichs’s “Optimizing Rehabilitation in Skilled Nursing Facilities”.
