The University of Colorado (CU) is delighted to announce the recruitment of Dr. Michael Harris-Love to serve as Professor and Program Director of the Physical Therapy Program. Dr. Harris-Love will also serve CU Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) as the Associate Dean of Physical Therapy Education and continue his role as a Veterans Affairs (VA) investigator through his affiliation with the Eastern Colorado Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center. He will begin his CU and VA roles at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in August 2019.
UCHealth and Boulder Community Health (BCH) today opened a new, 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit at UCHealth Broomfield Hospital offering comprehensive, individualized services for patients recovering from such conditions as stroke, neurological disorders, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputation, trauma injuries and complex orthopedic cases.

PM&R faculty Lisa Brenner, Claire Hoffmire and Jeri Forster, along with Trisha A. Hostetter, Rachel Sayko Adams and Kelly Stearns-Yoder, have a newly published study that found military veterans with a history of traumatic brain injury (TBI) are more than twice as likely to die by suicide compared with veterans without such a diagnosis.
