Join a CU Anschutz Research Study Evaluating a Behavioral Weight Loss Intervention with Strategies to Improve Sleep in Adults with BMI 25-40.

To be eligible to participate you must:

  • Be 18 to 60 years old
  • Have a Body Mass Index [BMI] between 25 and 40 kg/m2
  • Not currently taking prescription sleep medication(s) more than 2 days a week
  • Not currently taking prescription weight loss medication
  • Be willing to attend weekly group classes held by a registered dietitian
  • Own or be willing to purchase a smart phone or computer for virtual based classes
  • Live or work within 30 minutes of the Anschutz Medical Campus

What you will receive:

  • A 6-month group-based [behavioral] weight loss program 
  • A wearable commercial sleep tracker for the duration of the study
  • Strategies and recommendations to improve diet, physical activity and sleep
  • Weight loss meetings held weekly for the first 3 months, then monthly for next 3 months
  • Assessments of body composition, laboratory values, physical activity level, sleep, and eating patterns
  • Financial compensation provided
