Ask a Registered Dietitian

A group conversation with a dietitian about a targeted nutrition topic. Example: “My doctor told me to limit processed foods or how to shop for healthy foods on a budget.”

Cooking Demo


Watch a dietitian prepare easy and delicious recipes while learning cooking techniques, nutrition facts and how featured ingredients can improve your health.

Cooking Class


Led by two RDs - Global vegetarian cooking comes to your kitchen or ours! All recipes are simple & budget friendly.

• 60 minutes • Curbside ingredient pick-up available for ≤ 20 participants

• Virtually, up to 40 participants • In-Person, up to 18 participants


Nutrition Presentations

A nutrition education session with or without PowerPoint slides provided by a dietitian on selected topic.
• 30 minutes or 60 minutes
• Virtually, up to 40 participants
• In-Person, up to 18 participants at AHWC or capacity in classroom/venue on campus

Community Nutrition Programs Expectation Agreement


 

Our Promise to You: We will provide an informative, engaging, and fun wellness session for your team!

What We Expect of You and Your Group: Be on time and stay the whole time!

  • For all virtual sessions:
    • Ensure participants allocate enough time for technology set-up for virtual sessions.
    • Participants should find a quiet and comfortable space that allows for engagement with the presenter without distractions.
      Virtual sessions are conducted via Zoom.
    • The presenter will expect participants’ cameras to be on for all events.
  • For in-person sessions:
    • Parking lots around AHWC (Aspen and Monte Vista) cost $1/hour.
    • AHWC is unable to coordinate free parking for participants.
    • Specific waivers may be required! Links to any waiver(s) will be shared by an AHWC team member. Please ensure all participants receive this information in a timely manner.
    • AHWC is located at 12348 E. Montview Blvd. on the west side of campus.
  • For hands-on cooking:
    • All participants must adhere to guidelines governed by the Adams County Health Department.
    • Details regarding waivers, dress, etc. will be communicated prior to the event.

Post Event Follow-Up:

  • AHWC staff may follow-up with team leads or individual participants for post-event survey collection.
  • Encourage participants to utilize the resources provided to them after the event.

*Cancellation Policy
Because of time allotted by AHWC staff for event preparation and staff allocation, cancellations fees may apply to select events cancelled without sufficient notice.

  • >4 weeks before event date: No cancellation fee
  • 2-4 weeks before event date: 25% of program fee
  • <2 weeks before event date: 50% of program fee
  • Less than 24 hours before event date: 80% of program fee

If a program needs to be rescheduled, AHWC staff must be notified ≥30 days before the event date. Failure to notify staff will result in assessment of appropriate cancellation fees including a rescheduling fee equal to 10% of program fees to cover administrative costs (room reservations, staff allocation fees, etc.) if necessary.
In case of inclement weather, AHWC will adhere to campus closure notices. No rescheduling free will be assessed for programs rescheduled due to inclement weather.
