Seminar Series

DRC members have the opportunity to keep up-to-date on the cutting edge diabetes research on campus by attending a number of basic and clinical research seminars.

Of note, the DRC hosts a seminar series together with the Barbara Davis Center which features talks from noted clinical, translational and basic researchers from across campus and around the country.

The DRC Seminar Series for the fall of 2020 will be held virtually on Fridays at 12pm. 

 

Annual Symposium

The annual Diabetes Research Symposium brings researchers throughout the diabetes community together to discuss the cutting-edge diabetes research on campus. Highlights include an engaging poster session and the John Hutton Memorial lecture given by a distinguished researcher in the diabetes field.

Colorado DRC Pilot and Feasibility Grants Awarded

The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) awarded its first round of Pilot and Feasibility Grants to four researchers at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus. The 2020 awardees are: 

Petter Bjornstad--Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine. Title: Spatial metabolomics for human kidney interrogation of early diabetic kidney disease

Sridharan Raghavan--Attending Physician, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center; Assistant Professor, University of Colorado School of Medicine. Title: Evaluating Genetic Tools for Diabetes Precision Medicine in Clinical Biobanks

Mia Smith--Instructor, Department of Pediatrics and the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Title: Decoding the B cell endotype in early onset T1D

Clyde Wright--Associate Professor of Pediatrics. Title: Pathogenic Role of IκBβ/NFκB signaling in ER Stress Induced β-cell Injury and Death
