This workshop has been held in the spring for the last several years. It is a 2-day cadaver-based workshop dedicated to surgical residents in or beyond their PGY-3 year who are interested in global humanitarian work. Applications are accepted in the spring of each year after the announcement is sent out nationally.
The workshop is held at the Center for Surgical Innovation on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

The CU Surgery residents "ran for a cause" in the spring of 2019 when close to 60 surgery residents, faculty and staff ran the Colfax marathon as a fundraiser in support of Global healthcare equity and international educational exchange.
The CU Surgery residency program has international educational exchange sites in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Hospital do Servidor Publico Estadual, at 2nd Affiliated Hospital for Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, P.R. China, and at National University of Rwanda in Kigali, Rwanda. In addition to Surgery residents from University of Colorado participating in PGY-4 electives at these training sites, University of Colorado invites the participating programs to send their residents for rotations at CU.
