Kristin Uhler is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where she works in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is also the Kelley Family/Schlessman Family Scottish Rite Masons Chair in Childhood Language Disorders and practices audiology at Children's Hospital Colorado. Dr. Uhler's research focuses on speech perception and its role in language development across a range of children with language learning difficulties, including those with hearing loss, and on developing evidence-based practices in pediatric audiology and related fields.

Kristin obtained her Master's degree in audiology from CU Boulder and worked clinically for many years. Her experience as a clinical audiologist sparked her curiosity about speech perception development in infants with hearing loss and how it contributes to spoken language outcomes. This curiosity drove her to pursue a doctoral degree, which she completed in 2008 at CU Boulder.

As a clinician-scientist, Kristin believes her clinical experience is a core asset to her research, keeping her grounded in real-world needs and focused on improving patient care. She is passionate about using empirical evidence to inform clinical protocols and to better support families of children with a broad range of language and communication differences.
