Catharine Johnston-Brooks PhD

Dr. Catie Johnston-Brooks is a Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist (ABPP-CN) and an Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She was hired as the clinical neuropsychologist for the Marcus Institute for Brain Health in 2017 and prior to this she was at the Denver VA Medical Center for 18 years as the lead clinical neuropsychologist and the psychology internship training director (since 2010). Dr. Johnston-Brooks is a former present of the Colorado Neuropsychological Society and is currently the chair of the Colorado Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund Board of Directors as well as the chair of their Research and Program Evaluation committee. In her role at the MIBH, Dr. Johnston-Brooks will conduct neuropsychological evaluations, provide feedback and education to patients and family members, and will be involved in clinical research. Her research interests include psychological health in the context of brain injury, particularly among veterans. Dr. Johnston-Brooks believes that clinical neuropsychology's role is to help patients, family members and clinical teams better understand individuals' functioning so that the most effective treatments can be utilized to maximize recovery.
