Get to Know: Dr. Christian Nicolosi
CU PM&R salutes our incoming Chief Residents
Zachary Noriega, MPA | Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation/CU School of Medicine Mar 22, 2024CU PM&R is excited to introduce our new Chief Residents! Today we are spotlighting incoming Chief Resident Dr. Christian Nicolosi.
What made you want to pursue a career in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation?
I was lucky to be exposed to PM&R early on in medical school and I was drawn right away. I loved that we got to know patients for more than just their medical conditions. I enjoyed that we looked beyond medical treatments and thought about how our interventions impacted the patients quality of life and function.
What made you want to choose CU PM&R for residency?
I was fortunate to meet the residents (as a medical student here at CU) and they immediately made me feel part of the family. Since that time, I knew this is where I wanted to be. I valued the autonomy that this program offered and knew it produced strong physiatrists.
How would you describe your time as a resident at CU PM&R so far?
I’ve learned a ton in my time here at CU PM&R and I’m thrilled that I was lucky enough to match here! The time spent here so far as been fun, challenging, and definitely a great learning experience.
What are your goals as our new Chief Residents? What skills do you hope to develop as Chiefs?
My goal is to help bolster our program to help us continue to be a top program in the country. I’m hopeful to develop my leadership skills this year and build tools that I will take forward as I hope to continue in academic physiatry.
What are your goals after you complete residency at CU?
I’m planning on applying to a Sports Medicine Fellowship, with the long term goal of being in academic sports medicine/PM&R.
