Dr. Arends completed his Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and went on to complete a Fellowship in Interventional Spine techniques and procedures.
Relocating to Boulder in 2003, he co-founded the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute in Lafayette. He remains in Independent Private Practice at the Colorado Center for Spine Medicine in Boulder (recognized in 2019 for completing the Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative in 2019) and holds an Assistant Professor title at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Arends specializes in spinal injection procedures, electrophysiology, and conservative medical management of spinal disorders. He works very closely with area spine surgeons coordinating the entire continuum of spine care in the Boulder area.
