Stephanie Cowherd Ryder, MD, is a physiatrist and Associate Professor at the University of Colorado. She completed medical school at the University of Missouri (M-I-Z!), residency at the University of Colorado, and fellowship at Craig Hospital. She is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine, and Brain Injury Medicine. She worked for many years at the VA Hospital on the inpatient spinal cord injury unit before becoming the Inpatient Medical Director for the acute rehabilitation unit at UCH-Anschutz. She also serves as an associate program director for the PM&R residency and the PM&R specialty advisor for the CU medical school. Her academic interests include SCI rehab, TBI rehab, complex patient care, pressure injury prevention and management, and medical education.
