Maya Bunik

Maya Bunik, MD, has been selected as the inaugural Associate Chief Medical Officer-Ambulatory for our System of Care. Learn More >

Dr. Steven Federico is the new Chief Government and Community Affairs Officer at Denver Health. Dr. Federico is currently the Director of General Pediatrics and School and Community Programs, and is an Associate Professor of General Pediatrics at the University of Colorado. He will lead government relations efforts in better establishing partnerships with and advocating to local, city, state and federal leaders and organizations on behalf of Denver Health.

Stephen Berman, MD (Professor, Section of General Academic Pediatrics; Director of the Center for Global Health; former AAP President) passed away on January 17, 2023. Read more >

Dr. Sonja O’Leary, medical director of Denver Health's school-based health program, has agreed to serve as interim Director of Service for General Pediatrics, effective January 1.

Ronald J. Sokol, MD, has been named a University of Colorado Distinguished Professor, one of only 136 across the four CU campuses since 1977.

Alumni Receptions

We host a reception at the AAP National Conference and Exhibition each fall and the PAS meeting​ each spring. The Department will host a reception on Saturday, April 29, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the 2023 PAS meeting in Washington, D.C. View the flyer to learn more. Resident Research Day

Resident Research Day celebrates the research accomplishments of our residents and their faculty mentors. Many of our residents participate in mentored-research projects, which are presented at Grand Rounds and displayed on poster boards at the Spring Poster Session. The featured speaker is an alum who has had a successful career in research.
