Foot & Ankle Specialty Care

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Advanced techniques use smaller incisions and precise image guidance to correct foot and ankle conditions while limiting disruption to surrounding tissue.

Overview

A precise approach with a smaller footprint

Minimally invasive surgery, often called MIS, uses millimeter-scale incisions, specialized instruments, and live imaging to treat bone and soft-tissue conditions of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Marissa Jamieson develops each plan around the patient's anatomy, symptoms, activity level, and goals. When MIS is appropriate, it can achieve the same corrective goals as traditional open surgery with less disruption to nearby tissue.

Potential Benefits

Designed to support recovery

01

Smaller incisions

Small portals can reduce scarring and preserve more of the surrounding soft tissue.

02

Less swelling

Reduced tissue disruption may help limit post-operative pain and swelling.

03

Efficient recovery

For selected patients, MIS may support earlier mobility and a smoother return to daily activity.
