Department of Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology provides high-quality patient care using cutting-edge technology. The department actively participates in national working group clinical trials and leads numerous departmental investigator initiated clinical
trials (including trials led by physics faculty). The department provides a rich learning environment, as it has a Radiation Oncology Residency Program, hosts medical students, and is a clinical training site for radiation therapy and dosimetry
programs. Department faculty are highly active in research, leading a wide variety of research programs.
The Medical Physics Residency Program emphasizes the integration of the physics resident within the department. Physics residents will work closely with all staffing groups. In addition to being trained by physicists, residents are also trained directly by therapists and dosimetrists at various times in the program. Physics residents interact with physicians and radiation oncology residents, especially during the 3DCRT and Advanced Treatment Planning rotation. The education didactic sessions are also fully integrated with the Radiation Oncology Residency Program.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is one of four distinct campuses of the University of Colorado system. It is the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain region. This state-of-the-art medical center is globally recognized for its medical research, teaching, and clinical programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, physical therapy, and nursing.
