The Basics:
My New Weigh is a medically supervised weight management program which utilizes unique meal replacements and focuses on behavioral and nutrition education as well as emphasizes physical activity.
What is Medical Oversight?
Our medical director, Adam Gilden, MD, reviews week 1 and 15 labs of each participant of the program. Dr. Gilden is also available to see any clients who have medical issues during the program. All participants must be screened either by Dr. Gilden (additional fee) or by their own physician prior to starting the program. Most of the time, clients will not need to see an MD again during the program, however a return visit(s) is sometimes required for high-risk clients.
What is the cost of this program?

Does eating meal replacements mean that I am drinking shakes all the time?
The My New Weigh program does use a structured meal plan that is supervised by a Registered Dietitian. A meal replacement product is used but it is not only consumed as shakes. It can also be consumed as muffins, pizzas, soups, etc. We provide lots of recipes for you to try throughout the program.
What is the meal replacement product made of?
This product is primarily made of soy and whey (for protein). Because of the whey, there is a minuscule amount of lactose (~1g per packet), but unless you are extremely lactose intolerant you shouldn’t have symptoms. The products are not “certified” gluten free, but are made with oat fiber, so they are free of gluten. Health One is free of all artificial sweeteners.
I have several exercise restrictions. Will this be an issue?
My New Weigh recognizes that participants are at different levels and abilities when it comes to exercise and the My New Weigh program can be tailored to meet your needs.
What are examples of some of the topics covered?
The primary focus of My New Weigh is behavior change. We cover topics including stress management, environment change, self-talk, goal setting, healthy boundaries, creating healthy habits, breaking unhealthy habits, addressing binge eating, and personal accountability. We will also cover nutrition and physical activity topics focusing on ways to increase physical activity, portion control, meal planning, and weight loss and weight maintenance strategies.
What if I’m going to miss some classes?
We strongly encourage attendance at as many classes as possible. We recommend that if you know you will be missing more than two classes that you consider joining a class that works better for your schedule.
Who teaches the My New Weigh program?
My New Weigh is instructed by a registered dietitian experienced in behavioral weight loss.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
On average, you can expect to lose 10-15% body weight, but it is highly variable and dependent on adherence.
Where can I purchase My New Weigh meal replacements?
Health One meal replacements can be purchased at the reception desk at the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center or you can purchase them online through our web store.
How much do meal replacements cost?
Meal replacements cost $46.99/box. A box of meal replacements includes 15 individual packets, you will need 2-3 boxes a week. It is a program requirement to consume 4-5 meal replacements a day. We recommend that you purchase 2-3 boxes of meal replacements a week.
