Research

The Multidisciplinary Center on Aging (MCoA) serves as a campus hub for aging research, collaborating with faculty, staff, and departments across the university. By working closely with clinicians and researchers from the Division of Geriatric Medicine and beyond, the Center supports and advances research in various areas of aging, health, and longevity.

What is Research?

Research involves studying and discovering new information within a specific field. When it comes to aging, research aims to deepen our understanding of the changes that occur as people grow older. However, older adults are frequently underrepresented in clinical trials and research studies for various reasons. This lack of inclusion can lead to gaps in knowledge and limit the development of resources tailored to the needs of older populations—an increasingly critical issue as the global population continues to age.

Other Research Opportunities

The Multidisciplinary Center on Aging (MCoA) plays a pivotal role in connecting community members and researchers to broader research network opportunities beyond its own scope. While the MCA itself may not directly host all research initiatives, it fosters partnerships with various academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and research networks. Through these collaborations, the Center serves as a gateway, directing individuals to relevant opportunities that align with their interests and expertise, ultimately advancing research and community engagement in aging-related fields. This network of connections helps amplify the impact of both community-based and scientific research efforts.
