The CU Anschutz Multidisciplinary Center on Aging serves as the central campus hub to connect government, community, industry and campus initiatives about aging for the state of Colorado and beyond. From experts, to patients, to community members, the Center works to be the catalyst to help support productive aging for all.
The Multidisciplinary Center on Aging actively participates in Colorado legislation, working to ensure that the needs and concerns of older adults are prioritized. By collaborating with lawmakers, the MCoA advocates for policies that promote the well-being of older adults, ensuring their voices are heard in critical decisions. This involvement helps shape laws that improve healthcare, support services, and overall quality of life for the aging population in Colorado.
The CU Anschutz Vulnerable Elder Services, Protection, and Advocacy Team (VESPA) was established in January 2021 to provide elder abuse consultation services at University of Colorado Hospital and Denver Health. The VESPA Team is the only one of its kind in Colorado, and only 2nd in the nation to support, educate and consult with hospital partners concerning elder abuse cases.
Are you interested in connecting with the Multidisciplinary Center on Aging? From community advocacy to legislative initiatives, the MCoA strives to support community involvement in as many ways as possible.
The Multidisciplinary Center on Aging and Division of Geriatrics host events for community members, researchers, educators and more. Faculty from both the Center and the Division also attend annual events at research-focused geriatrics and gerontology conferences.
