We specialize in caring for adults age 75 and older who have complex health issues.
The mission of the Division of Geriatric Medicine is to create a thriving community of clinicians, researchers, educators and staff committed to world class aging research, unparalleled geriatric care, and highly innovative educational programs in partnership with older adults and those who care for older adults.
Through our Senior’s Clinic at University of Colorado Hospital, we treat patients age 75 and older who have multiple conditions and we also care for aging veterans through our partnership with the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Our researchers are shedding light on interventions that improve how we care for aging patients, including preventing disease, maintaining functional independence, and improving how we care for nursing home residents.
Medical students, residents, and fellows receive training through the Division of Geriatrics. We also provide interdisciplinary, team-based training. Our students benefit from working in a variety of care settings, including inpatient, outpatient and community-based settings.
CU Anschutz’s Medical Campus is home to one of the nation’s top Multidisciplinary Centers on Aging which is a university-wide collaboration that brings together the strengths and expertise of all Anschutz Medical Campus Health Professionals Schools including School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Nursing, Colorado School of Public Health, and The Graduate School whom all come together to solve some of the most complex issues in aging.
