Brain donation is extremely important to dementia research as researchers and scientists work towards understanding the cause and finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Making the decision to become a brain donor can be a difficult one, whether you are making the choice for yourself or for a person you are a caregiver for. We highly encourage talking with family members and your primary care physician to help you make this decisions.
At this time, the CU Alzheimer's and Cognition Center is only accepting brain donations from people who have participated in one of our specific research studies. If you are a community member who has not participated in one of our research studies, we encourage you to register through the NIH NeuroBioBank.
