Biography

Avani Shah is a certified Physician Assistant with the CU Alzheimer's and Cognition Center. She sees participants for our research studies for procedures such as lumbar punctures, neuro/physical exams, and also medical safety measures. She also works with patients in the Memory Disorders Clinic. She graduated with a Bachelors in Health Science and Minors in Psychology and Biology in 2017 followed by a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Northeastern University in 2019. Subsequently, she worked in the Boston area as a Neurology Physician Assistant. Her experience includes Neurocognitive Disorders and Dementias, Headache and Facial Pain, Neuromuscular Disorders, and Multiple Sclerosis. Avani's research interests include Alzheimer's Disease and Lewy Body Disease and their subtypes, as well as the impact of learning, language, and culture on the progression of Mild Cognitive Impairment. In her free time, she likes to hike, cook, travel, and read.
