Our program is proud to be part of the Kidney Urology Hematology Research Training Network (KUHR-TN). This collaborative community brings together institutions from across the country. While our program offers its own distinctive and exceptional opportunities, we are also connected to a broader network of NIH-supported KUH programs. Trainees gain access to an extensive array of shared resources, expertise, and opportunities.
ASCEND capitalizes on the diverse and interdisciplinary research communities at the University of Colorado (CU) and the University of Utah (UU) to carry out this mission. CU and UU are the premier research institutions in the Mountain West. CU and UU train the majority of physicians, graduate students, and undergraduate students in this region. Both Institutions have a history of successfully training KUH researchers. ASCEND unites researchers and scholars from CU and UU in kidney, urology and non-malignant hematology. The goal of ASCEND is to train and cultivate future academic leaders in KUH through creation of a collaborative, interdisciplinary, team-based research training program.
