All interviews will be conducted virtually using Zoom. Applicants will also have the ability to interact with our current fellows via Zoom in order to get a feel for our program.
Our goal is to train future leaders of nephrology to excel in their roles as clinicians, researchers and teachers. We are dedicated to training our fellows in all aspects of patient care, research and medical education. We offer three different tracks (clinical, research and clinician educator) and three different clinical sites to support your development as a nephrologist. We collaborate to provide the best care possible to our patients and we enjoy life together in the city of Denver and Colorado’s amazing mountains.
All of our sites are very close in proximity. The most amount of time it would take between two would be 30 minutes.
The majority of fellows rent within the Denver metropolitan area, in close proximity to all our training sites. Denver has numerous neighborhoods with something for everyone.

We plan to match 5 fellows into our program each year.
Yes! We have a dedicated night float service. Fellows do not spend the night in the hospital. They take home call during night float and come in as needed. Fellows are released from all daytime duties, including conferences and continuity clinics during the night float rotation.
We are very focused on fellow well-being. Every month, each fellow receives a one-half day for wellness. Fellows are excused from all fellowship duties during this time. We also have a night float system to improve work-life balance. We host social gatherings and events for the fellows, provide food at all of the conferences and provide an annual food stiped for food while on inpatient services. Additionally each fellow is matched with a clinical coach/mentor at the start of fellowship to provide an informal setting to discuss concerns about work, research or their personal lives.
