Nephrology Clinical Fellowship

The two-year clinical track provides excellent training in clinical nephrology and prepares fellows to be leaders in clinical medicine. The second year of training is devoted to continually developing clinical skills. Our nationally and internationally renowned faculty at the clinical sites provide an exceptional learning experience in all aspects of nephrology. Fellows rotate on renal consultative services, chronic dialysis services and have a weekly continuity clinic.  Second-year fellows will spend approximately 5-6 months on inpatient services, 3 months on chronic dialysis services, 2-3 months of electives and 2 months of scholarly time.

In addition to required clinical rotations, fellows have the ability to choose from a wide variety of electives including:

 

  • Glomerulonephritis
  • Onconephrology
  • Polycystic Kidney Disease
  • Renal Pathology
  • Critical Care Nephrology
  • Toxicology
  • Palliative Care
  • Pediatric Nephrology
  • Transplant
  • Radiology and Vascular Access
  • Additional dialysis training, including training in dialysis unit medical directorship

All fellows participate in a scholarly project and Quality Improvement project with faculty members during their second year.
