This meeting occurs via zoom between the University of Utah and CU Anschutz on the first Monday of every month.

The purpose of this meeting is to:

Discuss research and share research successes

Training and practice of oral presentation skills (trainees will present at least once a year at this meeting)

Career development activities (leadership training, negotiation, etc)

Journal club

The University of Utah Hematology Club meeting is open to all ASCEND program trainees. This meeting occurs in person for University of Utah trainees and via zoom for CU Anschutz trainees. 

The Professional Skills for the Scientist Training Series is a series that combines seminars and hands-on activities to help attendees develop essential skills for a successful scientific career. This event is hosted in person at the University of Colorado and is available via zoom to University of Utah trainees. 
Each year the ASCEND Annual Symposium occurs in person for both University of Utah and CU Anschutz trainees, mentors, PIs and Core Directors. This annual event provides opportunities to network and learn about ongoing research within the community. Trainees will participate in oral and poster presentations to highlight their own research. 
Every year one of the KUHR-TN programs hosts the KUHR-TN National Meeting. This is an opportunity for all recipients of the U2C/TL1 grant from across the country to come together and meet in person. ASCEND trainees are expected to attend and submit an abstract and conduct either an oral or poster presentation.  
Both the University of Utah and CU Anschutz offer opportunities throughout the year to meet with Visiting Professors as part of a networking professional development opportunities. These sessions are offered to all trainees with in person and zoom options depending on the host location.
