Exceptional cancer patient care demands a team of outstanding physicians. Rare melanomas in particular require a cross-disciplinary team of doctors, ranging from ophthalmologists for ocular melanomas to gynecologists for vulvovaginal melanomas. At the Center for Rare Melanomas, we have a dedicated core of melanoma oncologists and other specialists that are up-to-speed on the most recent advancements in managing and treating these unique melanomas. Our specialists include otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, gynecologists, neurologists, pathologists, and radiologists.

Our physicians meet on a weekly basis to discuss patient cases. Additionally, our doctors are highly invested in the translational research underway in the research laboratories. Weekly meetings between physicians and scientists facilitates better research and better patient care, with everyone staying up-to-speed on the latest clinical and research breakthroughs in rare melanomas. The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a leader in investigator-initiated clinical trials, and multiple physician-researcher collaborations are currently underway to bring new clinical trials, and new hope, to patients with rare melanomas.
