Career, and Personal Development

Mentoring

Our combination of formal and informal mentorship helps our residents achieve their goals. The faculty have strengths and specialties that match your needs. Whether residents are seeking guidance for a specific research project, a high value idea, career planning, finding harmony with life outside of medicine, or anything else, we are invested in your growth and development!

Formal Mentoring

  1. Senior Resident Peer Mentor: Those who match to our program will be paired with a current resident to answer questions about the move and transition to the program.

  2. Associate Program Director Advisor: Your APD advisor is part of the Clinical Competency Committee, which tracks your overall progress during residency. They will meet with you at least twice a year to discuss your overall progress as part of your semi-annual performance review. They will help you to know how you are performing on all of the residency milestones, the next steps for being your best, and ensure you are on the correct trajectory towards graduation.

  3. Subspecialty Mentors: For those considering future fellowship training, we encourage you to do a rotation in that field early in your training. During the rotation you will begin to explore research ideas and create relationships with subspecialty mentors. They will help mentor you on your projects and path to fellowship.

Career Opportunities

Our goal is to prepare you for whatever area of radiology you are passionate about! We will help you find a position that will allow you to provide excellent care in that section.

Global Health Program (RAD-AID International)

Radiology is vital medical imaging (x-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, etc.) essential for healthcare. Over half the world lacks radiology, impacting diagnosis and treatment of cancer, heart disease, infections, trauma, maternal-infant complications, and much more. RAD-AID brings radiology to low-resource areas by delivering education, equipment, infrastructure, and support.
